Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH), Bhubaneswar
Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH), Bhubaneswar, an Eastern Regional Centre of National Museum of Natural History, New Delhi under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Govt. of India is dedicated to the cause of spreading non-formal environmental education through its permanent galleries, in-house and outreach educational programmes throughout the year. Museum organizes various programmes for teachers and students such as workshops, nature camps, debate, painting & quiz competitions etc. to create awareness about nature, environment and wildlife. Museum’s foundation stone was laid on 5th November 1994 by the then Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Biju Patnaik and presided over by Shri Kamal Nath, the then Minister of Environment & Forest, Govt. of India. RMNH, Bhubaneswar was inaugurated on 10th August 2004 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik in the presence of Hon’ble Union Minister for Environment & Forest Shri Namo Narain Meena with a temporary exhibition on “Threatened and Endangered animals of India”, Biodiversity Gallery and Discovery centre.
